Sandra Luna - Live in Amsterdam: Kleine Komedie
Several beautiful songs performed by Sandra during her concert in Amsterdam in November 2004.
From album "Tango Varón".

Lyrics and Music: Edgardo Acuña
This is the air of Buenos Aires
It is in its people and between its streets
It lives in the centre of Obelisco,
And passes by Corrientes until the end
Here it is the master of mysteries
Coming from Bajo, looking towards the Centro
It grew up between lights and bitter maté
And so was born this male tango!...
Everything originating from there seems to have been
Invented by the city and the accordion,
With a delightful rhythm,
This is what teaches dignity
The same God who is a man and a friend
Was moved when it was created by the people,
And lent us a hand from above and, in this way,
The male tango was born
This is the air of Buenos Aires
it is in its people and between its streets
Even the end-of-century boys
Walk through it looking for obscurity
This is the time of intentions
If you fly high, the wind will take you away
The streets suffers at such times
But I bet you the sun will come out!

On her international début album "Tango Varón", Sandra performs classics such as Homero Manzi and Anibal Troilos Ché Bandoneón and the poignant, tremulous Lejana Tierra Mia, first recorded by Carlos Gardel, as well as post-1940s numbers by Astor Piazzolla and Atilio Stampone. With Carritos Cartoneros, she brings the genre right up to date with a song about the impoverished cardboard gatherers who come out at dusk in Buenos Aires to claim its recyclable waste and earn a few pesos. |
