Goodbye My Lover - Taku
|
Taku was born September 9, 1993 to Katina and Tilikum at Sea World Orlando, Florida. He was the first male orca to ever be born at the park. Through the years, he became such a beautiful and intelligent whale. He was always involved in waterworks with his trainers and was always very gentle towards them. On November 23, 2005, Takara gave birth to Taku's first son, Trua. Almost a year later on September 18, 2006, Katina gave birth to Taku's only daughter, Nalani. Taku got to spend time with both of his offspring until he was moved to Sea World San Antonio, Texas on November 17, 2006. He spent 11 months at the park before he died on October 17, 2007.
Taku will be greatly missed throughout the orca community.
