Mujh Se Pehli Si Muhabbat - The Original Tune of Noor Jehan

Someone has asked me to tell if the original tune of "Mujh se pehli si muhabbat" was composed by Noor Jehan or Rashid Attre? Offcourse Noor Jehan has gifted us so many of her blessed songs that she will always remain undiscovered for years or i shud say centuries to come. Youtube is a very small community when it comes to see Noor Jehan's Rare Songs. Am a lazy person basically so i searched on youtube for the Original Tuned Mujh Se Pehli Si Muhabbat.. but as expected .. i came across some 4, 5 different versions of this song.. but to my most disappointment NONE of them is in the original tune composed by Noor Jehan. All of these versions are in Rashid Attre's tune. Therefore i have to open my treasure of Rare Recordings again... and heres what 99% of you might not have listened in life. First am presenting you the Film song version composed by Rashid Attre and then you'll have the taste of ORIGINAL & TRUELY RAREST version composed by none other than the Melody Queen Noor Jehan. This was sung live in a Radio Pakistan Live Concert where she was requested to sing in her own composition after she had revealed that it was she who FIRST composed it.. and THEN Rashid Attre changed its tune and after that she always sang it in his tune. Enjoy the clip and honestly tell me if u ever heard it before and do let me know if u can feel any difference in tune in both the Asthai and the Antra. Regards Dr.Bukhari

DoongiaaN ShaamaaN - sung by Both Zubeda Khanum & Noor Jehan

Imagine a song sung by both the Queen of Pak Film Music from 1950s Zubeda Khanum and the Melody Queen Noor Jehan. Any of you found comparing my fav singer in comments wud be straight-away blocked.. so plz be careful. Regards Dr.Bukhari Wanted to add some words about Zubeda Khanum. She was introduced by Baba G.A.Chishty in Film Billo in 1953. When Noor Jehan finally left India and came to Pakistan, there were not many female film singers.. Zahida Parveen, Munawwar Sultana, Pukhraj Puppo etc. to name a few. Zubeda was on-peak right from Shehri Babu till the end of her less than 10 years awsome career when she married n left singing. The number of songs sung by Zubeda in these 10 years is higher than anyother of her contemporary female singers and mostly those are all hit songs.. and she sang the whole range of Urdu, Punjabi, Happy, Sad, Comedy, Solo, Duet, Chorus and even some semi-classical songs as well ..under highly esteemed music directors like Khwaja Khurshid Anwar, Feroz Nizami, G.A.Chishty, Rasheed Attre etc. Not comparing but the number of hits of zubeda exceeds Madam Noor Jehan in that period when both were singing together in Pakistan Films.. it has a logical reason, Noor Jehan used to give playback for herself only and Zubeda used to sing for Sabiha, Musarrat Nazir, Bahaar etc. and when Noor Jehan decided to give playback for other heroines Zubeda had almost reached the end of her career so thats why she sang more songs and gave more hits as she had to sing for other characters even in the movies of Noor Jehan too.. like Koel, Intezar, Chhoo Mantar etc. Also theres a fact to keep in mind that Noor Jehan used to appear (and sing songs) in less than 5 movies per year from 1950 to 1960 so who was giving playback of remaining movies of the year? obviously the leading singer was none else than Zubeda Khanum. Munawwar Sultana, Kausar Parveen, Zahida Parveen, Pukhraj Puppo were good singers but their voices didnot fit on every heroine so Zubeda was the logical choice. (Nahid Niazi carried her role laters) Its a pity that the only gramophone recording company HMV wasnt interested much in Pak movies of earlier period but in Indian Films where they earned millions cuz of a bigger circuit n demands. Result is that today we can just read the names of movies from that golden era of Pak Movies. Believe me there are so many beautiful songs of all Pak singers from 1947 to 1965 to which HMV didnot pay any attention to record. It was after 1965 when Pakistan banned import n display of Indian Movies in Pak and HMV started production of a bit more quantity of gramophone records in this region. (even that was mostly dubbed from film prints and they cut almost every 3 stanza songs to 2 and interlude music was edited as well.. best example is Chanway, Anarkali and Dopatta songs which are extended in movie but edited in Records. Realy shame for HMV/EMI. Sad to note that the laskers carried out this routine till the end of their business in Pakistan). Back to Zubeda Khanum.. She is a very noble and shy soul with no scandals despite being a 10 year plus span in our industry. She is the only singer in Indo-Pak who never gave a public or radio or newspaper interview in her career nor she ever agreed for a photgraph even. When she married to a Syed Family in Lahore it was her own decision to stop singing and lead a simple yet graceful domestic life of which shes proud of today ..with no regrets of leaving 'Bharya Mela'. Few words in Urdu.. Zubeda abhi bhi apna nawaasay, nawaasion aur potay, potioon kay sath hunsi khushi zindagi guzaar rahi hay ..sar mein chaandi kay taar aa gayay to kya hua rewayati sharm-o-haya abhi bhi barqaraar hay. Kuchh saal pehlay bahut minnaton say Farrukh Bashir usay TV par lanay mein kamyaab huay aur jab compere nay koi geet gununaanay ko kaha to Zubeda nay dheemay lehjay mein shaaistgi say jawab diya kay "Nahi Beta. Gana main nay shadi kay baad say nahi gaya albatta aik Naat suna deti hoon" Then she recited her famous naat from movie Ayyaz .. Salloo Alaihe wa Aalehi.. Then i saw her appearing for the second n probably last time on PTv on Noor Jehan's First Anniversary where she was kept silent on chair for a complete one hour by the compere and when given just 20sec to say something about Noor Jehan, She described Noor Jehan with a such a love n gratitude that i never saw in any of Noor Jehan fan or admirer. Shame for PTv to disgrace the lady in oldage. Coming to current song sung by both the legendary singers. Noor Jehan took advantage in this song as she was herself on screen for her playback so she sung it rather casualy and in her routine effortless style. Zubeda on the other hand had to work hard in it cuz she knew she had only voice to give impression in this song and it will be Laila on screen to act. So to me Zubeda gave her best impressions in voice while Noor Jehan gave her best on-screen. Continued in Comments now...Plz read from there.

Michael J Fox Keynote Speech in BIO International Convention

In his speech as the keynote speaker in 2007 BIO International Convention in Boston, Michael J Fox addressed the need for creative approaches to speed translation of the significant investments in research and discovery into meaningful, patient-relevant advances in human health, and explore strategies and solutions to "de-risk" investment in novel therapeutics for the biotechnology industry and academia alike. Other keynote speakers of the convention include Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan and U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy. ---Houston Chronicle---- Fox said grants from the National Institute of Health have created a system that mainly encourages academic scientists to publish papers that yield academically interesting answers. But the system fails to translate the discoveries into new treatments and cures. He said pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies aren't interested in high-risk studies critical in determining whether creative ideas could yield therapies for the 20,000 human diseases that have no cure. They are more interested in repackaging old ideas and compounds in an effort to continue reaping vast returns. "Levodopa is the gold-standard treatment for Parkinson's ... But it's a little frustrating that the best drug we've got is one that's been around for 40 years. 40 years!" Fox said Monday at the BIO International Convention, a four-day event expected to attract more than 20,000 researchers, investors, activists and others. "But, hey, credit where credit is due _ I couldn't be happier about the recent advances. What comes to mind is antidepressants for dogs, which makes it a little easier for me because my dog is feeling better," said Fox, who either put one hand in his pocket or gripped the podium to control visible symptoms of his disease.
