HERIDOS EN EL ACCIDENTE DE AVIONETA DE LILLO MEJORAN

Había participado horas antes en un anuncio para el fabricante de vehículos Honda, transmitido por una televisión británica. Acababa de hacer historia, porque, por primera vez, un anuncio se había emitido en directo. El aparato, un Pilatus PC-6 de la compañía "Air Compluto", era una de las dos avionetas desde las que saltaron los 19 paracaidistas que irrumpieron en la programación para formar las 20 letras con el nombre del anunciante. Durante la mañana de ayer realizó otros 6 vuelos. A primera hora de la tarde, por causas que se desconocen, se estrelló en la localidad toledana de Lillo. Poco antes de las cuatro de la tarde, la vioneta pierde un ala y cae en picado, se estrella contra el suelo y se incendia hasta quedar completamente calcinada. Se encontraba sólo a tres kilómetros de su punto de partida, el aeródromo de Lillo. Se desconocen las causas. Dos personas, el piloto -español- y un paracaidista brasileño, de 36 años, mueren en el accidente. Los otros 9 ocupantes, paracaidistas de diferentes nacionalidades, consiguen saltar antes de estrellarse la aeronave. Cuatro de ellos se encuentran heridos, dos -con posible fractura- serán dados de alta en las próximas horas, otro con luxación y fractura de cuello ha sido trasladado a Madrid; mientras que un hombre de 52 años ha sido intervenido de una herida inciso-contusa en el cuello que le ha afectado al nervio facial, se encuentra en planta, grave pero estable. En lo que va de año han muerto 4 personas en accidentes de avioneta en nuestra región. El último siniestro mortal registrado en Lillo fue en verano de 2008, cuando una mujer británica de 31 años murió al chocar contra un paracaidista

Lillo Thomas - I'm In Love
|
Lillo Thomas was a world-class sprinter at 16, setting the world record for the 200 meters at 20.8 seconds. But an automobile accident in Brazil prevented him from appearing in the 1984 Olympics, for which he had qualified. Thomas left athletics behind for music, and toured with comedian Eddie Murphy in 1985. He became a successful session vocalist, doing vocals on releases by Evelyn "Champagne" King, Kashif, James Ingram, George Benson, and Melba Moore, among others, while also writing "Mind Up Tonight" for Moore. He landed his own solo deal with Capitol, and began getting singles on the charts. "Your Love's Got a Hold on Me" was his first Top 20 R&B single in 1984, and Thomas enjoyed his biggest year in 1987 with three Top Ten R&B hits. "I'm in Love" reached number two and remains his most successful single. Thomas collaborated with Paul Laurence on songs recorded by Freddie Jackson and Moore. He has also successfully acted and painted.

It's back!! From his last, but most successful lp, Lillo. He left the industry just in the wake of the New Jack Swing era that altered the sound of black music and helped many artists crossover to the mainstream. If Lillo had held on longer, he would have made it. Unlike his overlooked singles from the early 1980's "You're A Good Girl" and "Your Loves Got A Hold On Me", "Sexy Girl" reached #3 on the R&B charts as well as two other singles from Lillo hitting the top ten on the R&B charts! Tandem King - Tandem Skydiving in Lillo, Spain
|
Top Brit freeflyer Mike Carpenter of Freefly Euphoria and now Outbreak Freefly films his brother getting his first taste of freefall at Skydive Lillo near Madrid.
The film's featured Tandem master is Spain's Pablo Hernandez, now one of the world's top canopy pilots, and also features fellow British swooper Brian Vacher who runs the Safe Flight School at Skydive Empuriabrava. Additional camera work also provided by Andy Guller from the Swedish National 4-way Team.
