Carla, Sarkozy flee Israeli runway

A visit by the French President and his new wife to the Middle East has been disrupted by a shooting at an airport in Tel Aviv.
Police say an Israeli soldier on the perimetre of the farewell ceremony had apparently shot himself.
The incident did not endanger the visiting President and bodyguards quickly hustled Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy into their airplane at Ben-Gurion Airport.

The British Airways Boeing 777-236(ER) Made An Emergency Landing Short Of Runway 27L At Heathrow (LHR / EGLL) Airport.
AAIB: BA jet's engines "failed to respond"
The British Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) today (Jun 19, 2008) released its initial findings into the crash landing of British Airways' 777-236(ER) G-YMMM yesterday at London Heathrow (LHR / EGLL). The report reads that "At approximately 600ft and two miles from touch down, the autothrottle demanded an increase in thrust from the two engines, but the engines did not respond. Following further demands for increased thrust from the autothrottle, and subsequently the flight crew moving the throttle levers, the engines similarly failed to respond." The report goes on to note that "A significant amount of fuel leaked from the aircraft, but there was no fire," discounting some early theories that fuel starvation may have played a role in the incident. |

JetBlue Runway Fiasco!!

Last year (Feb 2006) around the same time of year, we had our flight sit on the tarmac for about 8 hours and then it was canceled and we had no way of getting home! We waited in 3 hour long lines and had to incur numerous extra charges. The best JetBlue did was give us a couple vouchers. We had to pay for taxis, hotels, and newer more expensive flight home through Southwest! Thanks JetBlue!

Marc Jabcobs Fall 2007 Runway Show - Fashion Indie

http://www.fashionindie.com - So we cheated. Yes FashionIndie.com is only dedicated to the best emerging fashion events, but some times you cannot turn down an invitation. This show was packed with celebrities and was the most amazing show we have ever seen. Marc Jacobs delivered in a show that was both 1930's cool and modern day chic. The collection was focussed on a very skinny look and combined rich ribbed cashmere sweaters, gabardine trousers with stirrups and amazingly tailored three piece suits to bring a regal style and elegance to the runway. The collection worked extremely well with an amazing millinery collection by Stephen Jones and music by Frederic Sanchez.
An especially pleasant treat was the shear amount of celebrities at the event. Lenny Kravits, Joss Stone, Michelle Rodriquez, Harry Connick Jr, Russell Simmons, Lil Kim, Anna Wintour, Debbie Harry, Rod Stewart and more lined the front row of the runway. It was nearly impossible to walk anywhere without bumping into someone known. A spectacular show, a spectacular event, Marc Jacobs delivered another phenominal collection for Fall 2007. |
