PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING!
Major SPOILERS for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! If you do not want to know what happened in HBP, do not go on reading and don't watch the video!
This is not fanfiction. It was a dream I had months BEFORE I even read the book. I have had similar entertainment-related dreams in the past and they came true. Maybe I have a brain for working out what other people's imaginations are up to - or perhaps I am just crazy.
Regardless, in this dream Harry found out that Snape was on his side (I will let you watch the video for the whole story). When I later read the book, I realized that it was a possibility that what I dreamed would happen in Book 7. A few points that I did not add to the video because they were not in the dream and did not occur to me until much later:
*** We never found out what is at the core of either Hagrid's or Snape's wands. I now believe that this was intentional so people would not make that connection. But considering Hagrid's love of dragons and Snape's personality, it is a distinct possibility that they are both dragon heartstring.
*** At the end of Book Six, Hagrid is shown using his wand/umbrella to put out the fire at his house. I believe this was to remind the readers that, while his wand had been broken, it was still there and still functional.
*** At the very beginning of Sorcerer's Stone, Dumbledore said "I would trust Hagrid with my life" - I do not believe this line was a throw-away. This part of the story will have to come full-circle.
*** When Snape is running from the castle at the end of HBP, Harry is throwing curses left and right at him, but Snape is avoiding using his wand as much as he can. He only blocks the spells, he doesn't fire back until he has no other choice. Even then, I believe he only used it two or three times. Remember how, when Harry and Voldemort's wands met the last FOUR spells recalled from Voldemort's wand? Perhaps Snape wanted to be sure that Dumbledore would be able to deliver his message.
*** Not directly related to the dream, but at one point Harry begins "Cruc--" and Snape stops him. Snape made it a point of telling Harry that he wouldn't let him use any unforgivable curses. Is he trying to protect Harry?
*** Also unrelated, but Snape could have taken Harry's wand towards the end of the book instead of just sending it flying into the dark. "Accio" and he'd have had it. But he didn't take it.
Save this one to your favorites - think of how much you'll wish you did when the book comes out and you want to compare notes ;)
Anyway, the dream involved Harry, Ron, Hermione, Snape, Hagrid, Ollivander, Dumbledore, and Voldemort. The music (which is only there to keep it from seeming too blank) is "Dante's Prayer" by Loreena McKennitt - it has a soft, dreamlike quality that seems to fit well. Though I'd have liked to use moving video, my kids have scratched just about every disk in the house, all the Harry Potter movies included. |
