Musician of the Renaissance. Son of a cobbler, his real name was Juan de Fermoselle (1468-1529).
He belonged to the early days of the so-called polyphonic school Spanish, one of the most important of Spain, and that best represents the evolution polyphonic in this country, is considered one of the patriarchs of Spanish theater. It reached its high in glosas and carols.
There is a satire on the "Cucú, cucú, cucucú", which nevertheless found an ingenious play on words, since cucú is nothing more than hiding from the French word "cocu" (cuckold) and that appears to give the carol one character from another genre by introducing an element of nature as is the song of cuckoo bird.
Lyrics:
"cucu, cucu, cucucu!
be careful not to be one.
Fellow man, you ought to know,
that even the best woman
is always wanting to screw,
so tire out yours very well.
Fellow men, you must be careful,
not to be a cuckold,
if your wife goes outside to pee,
you go out with her.
cucu, cucu, cucucu!
be careful not to be one!"

"cucu, cucu, cucucu
guarda no lo seas tú.
compadre debes saber
que la mas buena muger
rabia siempre por hoder
harta bien la tuya tu.
cucu...
guarda...
compadre has de guardar
para nunca encornudar
si tu muger sale a mear
sal junto con ella tú." |
