|
Mulla Bassim Karbalaei recites this eulogy in mourning of Fatima Zahra (as) in Kufa, Iraq, in a gathering of thousands who have come in her rememberance. Fatima Zahra (as) is the daughter of The Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw). This video is when Mulla Bassim Karbalaei returned to Iraq in 2003, after the fall of Saddam Hussain. After Saddam fell, Shia Muslims were able to grieve openly for the oppressions and tribulations of The Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his family.
Despite that Fatima Zahra (as) was oppressed and killed over 1300 years ago, milions today mourn her is if she died yesterday, and her struggles are an inspiration to millions of people across the globe. After her father, The Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) died, her land that was a gift to her from the Holy Prophet was stolen from her, and her husband's (Imam Ali) divine right to succeed the Holy Prophet (saw) was stolen from her. The oppression became so bad that the First and Second Caliph among a group of other people stormed her house and crushed her between her front door when they could not get Imam Ali's allegiance. Her unborn son with whom she was pregnant with was killed, and she was severly injured and died not long later. Fatima Zahra (sa) would weep so much for her father after his death, and often visit his grave. Imam Ali (as) had to make a shed outside of the city of Mecca for her to weep in, because her weeping was disturbing the Caliph of the time. Dispite her oppressions, she stood up in the face of tyranny and openly spoke out against the oppressors, showing divine knowledge of the Holy Quraan and telling the people of how her rights were taken from her. For this reason, she is remembered to this day, and hundreds of millions of Muslims mourn her oppressions.

This eulogy is a remembarance of the family of Mohammed and their struggles and oppression. The chest beating is just a cultural way of grieving, but its foundation represents joining the family of Mohammed in their tragedy and creates a sense of mourning, also showing that love for them is important, pure, and rewardable by Allah (s.w.t.).

| Bassim Karbalaei returns to Kathemiyya,
|
Mulla Bassim Karbalaei's emotional return to Kathemiyya in 2003. People in Iraq were killed for simply having a tape of Bassim, but now, after the fall of Saddam, they were able to mourn and remember AhlulBayt (as), which is The Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his houshold family, openly.
Here Mulla Bassim al-Karbalaei recites a eulogy for Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his tragedies, over 1300 years since Imam Hussain's death and oppressions. Imam Hussain is the grandson of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.).

| Mulla Bassim Karbalaei - English Subtitles (Part 1 of 2)
|
"Ya Abo Sibtain" (O father of two sons)
with English subtitles
This is Part 1 of 2, Part 2 is the video response
Al Hajj Mulla Bassim Karbalaei recites for the tragedy of Karbala, over 1300 years since the massacre of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his family and companions. Imam Hussain (a.s.) is the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Here Mulla Bassim recites for Abo Fothlel Abbas (a.s.), the half-brother of Imam Hussain (a.s.) who gave everything he had away by being killed serving Imam Hussain (a.s.) and Islam. Abbas (a.s.) went to get water for the camp of thirsty women and children, and refused to drink despite days of thirst whilst his brother Imam Hussain (a.s.) was thirsty. Upon returning to the camp, his left hand was cut, and his right hand, and arrow was shot into his eye and he was hit on his head and thus fell to the desert sand dropping the flag. Abel Fothlel means "the father of virtues" Abbas (a.s.). This is because he displayed every virtue known to man on that day of Ashoora (the tenth of Muharram), in Karbala.
In this beautiful poem Abbas (a.s.) is talking to his father Imam Ali (a.s.).
"Haider" is a name of Imam Ali (a.s.), the father of Abel Fothlel Abbas (a.s.), and Imam Hussain (a.s.).

This eulogy is a remembarance of the family of Mohammed and their struggles and oppression. The chest beating as just a cultural way of mourning, many different cultures have their own ways of mourning and grieving. Chest beating is like clapping, it has no significant harm to the body. The foundation of mourning the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his family, those who strived in the way of Allah (swt), represents joining them in their tragedy and creates a sense of grief ad sadness for them. Showing love for them is important, pure, and rewardable by Allah (swt), and is a command of the Holy Quraan:
(Surat 42, ayaat 23)

Surely we belong to God, and to him we shall surely return
Allah loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He who heareth and knoweth all things.
(Surat 4, Ayaat 148)
And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans;
(Surat 16, Ayaat 53)
Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives;
(Surat 42, Ayaat 23)
That (shall be so); and whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts.
(Surat 22, Ayaat 32)
We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.
